Managing Partner
LLB (University of London) · Certified Financial Crime Specialist (CFCS)
Shama advises corporate clients, financial institutions, and regulated businesses on compliance, governance, and financial crime risk. She draws on a decade of experience at the Prosecutor General’s Office, where she headed the Economic and Financial Crimes Unit, the Special Prosecution Unit, and the Appeals Section — and appeared in over 100 appellate matters, including landmark Supreme Court cases involving complex financial and evidentiary issues.
Her leadership of the country’s most significant financial crime prosecutions — including the MMPRC corruption and money laundering cases involving senior government officials — gives her rare insight into how enforcement agencies build cases, how regulators assess risk, and how organisations can proactively manage vulnerabilities. Her roles in the National Risk Assessment and Mutual Evaluation process mean she understands the regulatory landscape from the inside.
Shama is a co-author of Evidence: A Practitioner’s Guide and has trained over 1,000 professionals — including judges, investigators, prosecutors, and defence lawyers — on the Evidence Act, Criminal Procedure, and Anti-Money Laundering.
Partner
LLB (IIUM) · LLM in New Technologies Law (ANU) · Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) · Certified Financial Crime Specialist (CFCS)
Naufal advises clients on financial crime risk, digital investigations, data protection, and regulatory compliance. He brings internationally recognised credentials — including CFE and CFCS certifications and a Master’s specialising in New Technologies Law from the Australian National University — alongside deep prosecutorial experience across the Maldives’ most complex financial crime and corruption matters.
As founding Director of the Prosecutor General’s Academy and Chair of the multi-agency Financial Crime Working Group, Naufal has shaped how financial crime is investigated and prosecuted in the Maldives. He has contributed to major legislative reforms and represented the country in the Mutual Evaluation process — giving him direct insight into how regulators and enforcement bodies operate, and how organisations can stay ahead of their obligations.
A co-author of the forthcoming Evidence: A Practitioner’s Guide, Naufal is a recognised authority on evidentiary law and modern proof standards. He has trained hundreds of practitioners — including judges, investigators, and private-sector lawyers — and serves on the Ethics Committee of the Bar Council of the Maldives.
His experience overseeing workplace investigations and organisational accountability — as former head of the Investigation Review Section and member of the Prosecution’s disciplinary processes — translates directly into advising corporate clients on sensitive HR matters, internal reviews, and employment disputes.
Counsel
LLB (Maldives National University) · MA Political Science & International Affairs (MNU)
Mazih advises on cybercrime, electronic evidence, and financial crime matters, bringing over seven years of courtroom experience across every level of the Maldivian judiciary, including landmark Supreme Court cases.
He has led the Investigation Review Section at the Prosecutor General’s Office, overseeing investigative quality and issuing directives to law enforcement bodies — experience that gives him a practitioner’s understanding of how investigations are built, where they fail, and how organisations can strengthen their internal compliance processes.
Mazih represented the Maldives in the UN Ad Hoc Committee that drafted the UN Cybercrime Convention, and has contributed to international forums including the Council of Europe’s Octopus Conference and the South Asia Regional Cyber Conference. This direct involvement in shaping the international framework around digital offences gives him unique insight into the evolving regulatory landscape for cybercrime and electronic evidence.
With specialised training in crypto tracing and analysis (INTERPOL), financial crime investigation, and electronic evidence handling, Mazih brings a rare combination of legal expertise and technical capability. Prior to joining Juris, he served as Managing Partner at Lexicon LLP, where he advised clients on commercial contracts, real estate, and construction matters. His interdisciplinary background — holding a Master’s in Political Science and International Affairs alongside his law degree — makes him particularly effective on matters involving governance, cross-border considerations, and regulatory risk.
